ConvertCast Episode 2
July 20 – Mea Culpa
Apologies to all iPhone owners I’ve made fun of over the last 2 years.
EVERYONE has an iPhone!
all the msmobiles hosts have, and 3/4 use as primary device
everyone involved in the WMExperts Round Robin had one
What made you actually make the switch in the first place?
Great thread on The iPhone Blog forum asking the question. (I’m not keen on most of the answers!)
BT on the iPhone – Comparison with WM and Palm. Does experience with both count? Of course it does!

What’s the S60 issue? I’m so in-love with multitasking and switching apps via the home key I really cant handle iPhone and it’s long long long app startup time.
I use 3.0 on the Touch 2G and kinetic scroll was hanging constantly until I wiped the device for the 3rd time. Really frustrating.

The app opening time on the 3GS is amazingly fast. That being said, I tempted fate mentioning resets in this podcast, and have now reset 4 times. Ah well.

I always laugh at this multi tasking (for functionality) vs non multi tasking (for stability) argument.
It is possible to have both in the Android model. There are basically three types of apps. Those that never need to run in the background, these pretty much behave like iphone apps. Those that run in the background for a while then close, for example a downloader. Finally those that need to run in the background all the time like skype or an IM client.
In that debate Android has the stability of iphone without the limitations as in WM. The best of both worlds. Of course for all three models (iphone, WM and android) to work there needs to be good programming practice.
