Pandora now for Windows Mobile
We remember that Pandora recently became available for Windows Mobile, but only for select phones. But now, thanks to some of those helpful hackers over at PPC Geeks, Pandora is now available for (possibly) every Windows Mobile phone. At least in the US.
For those of you still out of the loop about what Pandora is, it’s an internet radio station where you mold the music to your taste. Start by choosing an artist or song as your base. Pandora may play the song you have chosen, or another song by the artist who does the song. It will play something by the artist you have chosen, or it will play a song from a similar artist. You don’t always get exactly what you want, but often you learn about songs or artists you didn’t previously know about.
Don’t like something that’s playing? Just forward on to the next song. If you really hate a song, you can give it a thumbs down so that you won’t hear it again. If you really like something, give it a thumbs up so that it will come around again or so that Pandora’s engine can find more music similar to it. I would definitely advise you check out Pandora from your desktop before going mobile with it. But if you have never used it before, the WM client will let you create a new account along with new stations.
Here are a few screen shots of Pandora’s Windows Mobile client:

Unlike the #Phone’s version, can this one play in the background? =)
And I really wish this piece of news was about the OTHER PANDORA that’s supposed to come out soon (since November). I am talking, of course about the Pandora Gaming Console/UMPC.
BTW, your site looks great.

Thanks Zed. I hope you’ll be a frequent visitor.
Funny thing is, every time I see something about the OTHER PANDORA, the umpc, I always think they’re talking about the music engine!
I’ll have to double check whether or not it plays in the background. Can’t right now cause I’m tethered to my Wind.

It’s infuriating these things don’t work outside the US.
