Proporta Soft Feel Silicone Case

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, Apple, cases, iPhone 4, Proporta    Posted date:  August 21, 2010  |  No comment

Another silicone case, this one $28.95 from Proporta. I did a review of Proporta’s SteriTouch silicone case for the iPhone 3G(S) a while back, and Proporta has updated this case for the iPhone 4. Unlike the typical silicone cases which are monochrome, this one is black on the outside and pink on the inside. It’s also offered in black/green and black/grey. A nice ribbed texture on the sides insures your phone will not slip from your grasp. The back has some matching ribbing that gracefully flows from the sides, and a few other nice touches to make sure you’re always in control. The sides...

Proporta Shine case for iPhone 4

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, Apple, cases, iPhone 4, Proporta    Posted date:  August 7, 2010  |  One Comment

Some time back, I wrote a review on Proporta’s Shine case for the iPhone 3G/3GS – beautiful girlie case. Now I’m back to look at the new Shine case for the iPhone 4. Updated slightly, the design now has a band to keep the case closed (or open), and is available in three colours: black, red, and blue for $36.95. Proporta sent me a red Shine case to review, and I must say the patent leather looks even better in red than the old Shine case in black. Even better news, it is not the fingerprint magnet that you might expect. As a fashion statement, this truly Shines. The new design with the band...

Proporta for iPad

Proporta has long been one of my favorite companies for cases. Their Shine case for the iPhone is unique and beautiful. I had the opportunity to look at four of their offerings for the iPad, and I must say – they are fabulous. Since I no longer have an iPad, I invited a friend over, and we opened the packages and played dress-up with her iPad. All the cases were packaged the same way, traditional cellophane bag, taped at one end, with a cardboard product band around it, showing the case name. Two of the cases we looked at were simple back shells, and two were leather binder style cases. As you’ll...

Proporta Shine

Proporta has a great lineup of accessories. Some of them are really unique, so when they offered to send me the new Shine case to review, I jumped at the chance. I don’t particularly care for leather cases. The sides typically come up impeding the swiping motion, necessary to move from page to page when using the iPhone. But Proporta has designed the Shine to avoid that little issue, by making it a barebones holder, inside a patent leather case.  Definitely a girlie case, the Shine still provides everything you want in a case. Front and back protection are solid. The padded leather will...

Proporta Universal Emergency Charger

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, charger, device, gadgets, mobile, power, Proporta    Posted date:  February 15, 2009  |  No comment

Proporta has long been one of my favorite gadget and accessory providers. They have great stuff, no matter what your personal preference in mobile tech. They have cases for everything from iPhones to Blackberries, Palms to Nokias. They have laptop bags, gadget bags, and every other conceivable accessory. And being a terribly British company, you get a cup of tea with every order.     Proporta advertises its Universal Emergency Charger as having “an impressive 2500 mAh” of power. I’m not convinced that 2500 mAh is really all that impressive, but it is more power than you get to start...
