FlyGrip – Smartphone accessory review

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  Android, cellphone, e-reader, Fly grip, holder, iPhone, ipod, Kindle, mobile, Nook, one-hand, smartphone    Posted date:  August 9, 2012  |  No comment

The FlyGrip is a great little gadget that makes holding your cellphone or e-reader more comfortable. Available in 8 colors and 3 sizes, it goes with everything and everyone. Simply take the adhesive backing off the FlyGrip, and attach to the bottom of your phone or e-reader. The FlyGrip pivots back and forth so that you can get your fingers under without pinching. The hard plastic is smooth and quite comfortable.     Mostly, it allows you to hold your device with one hand, and still access the entire screen. It's great for taking photos! If you wanted to, you could...

Device Review – Nook Touch

Posted by: Guest Contributor    Tags:  B&N, Barnes and Nobile, e-ink, e-readers, Nook    Posted date:  March 6, 2012  |  No comment

Special thanks to Elizabeth McDonough for this review! There is an ever-growing market out there for e-readers and tablets. That leaves one confused as to which one is the best choice. Fear not, however, because I’m about to review one of these devices from the many available: The Nook Touch. We’ll begin with the obvious factors: size, weight, battery life, and memory. I can tell you after a week or two of use that it’s very light (7.48 ounces), extremely portable (6.5 inches high by 5 inches wide and .47 inches in depth), and I’ve only had to charge it maybe twice after near-constant...

The Nest for any Tablet

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  holder, iPad, Kindle, mount, Nook, stand, Tab, tablet, Xoom    Posted date:  November 12, 2011  |  One Comment

While surfing for new and possibly interesting accessories, I came across bluelounge.com. They are positively packed with novelties. I couldn't help but place an order. The focus of my order was something called the Nest. The Nest holds any tablet in two positions: raised at a slight angle, and almost perpendicular.   I must admit, I was mostly captured by this little gadget because of the variety of colors available. I ordered a pink one. So far, I have not been disappointed, and am already considering getting a second one so that I can keep one on my desk at school, and one on my night...

ROOCASE Executive Leather Case for the Nook Color

Posted by: Diana M. McDonough    Tags:  accessories, Android, cases, e-reader, Nook    Posted date:  September 29, 2011  |  No comment

I recently purchased the ROOCASE Executive Leather case for my Nook Color as a consolation prize for not being able to get a new tablet.  The case is available in red, magenta, graphite grey and black.  I bought the red one. The leather is nice quality; it is not smooth, yet not too heavily grained for my overly-sensitive fingers.  The case itself is fairly thick at just over an inch, but that is understandable given the design.  The cover is sturdy and rigid; and it is nicely padded, with the ROOCASE logo embossed in the lower right corner of the front.  The Nook could probably withstand...
