iWOW-U Wows You and Me! Accessory Review

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, enhancement, iwow, music, review, sound, srs    Posted date:  May 21, 2012  |  No comment

I have one question. Why doesn't everyone have an iWOW-U? It's such a simple thing. You'd think the technology could be built into our music players or headsets to start with. JAGS covered the iWOW-3D about a year ago, and it sounded great - the review, I didn't get a chance to listen. But SRS Labs showed up to Show Stoppers at CTIA this year, and offered me the opportunity to do an update for their new product. We had a chance to listen at the booth, and I must admit, part of me was thinking "it sounds good because you're already using really expensive headphones, and it's probably just...

Guess Your Songs!

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  app, entertainment, Facebook, games, iOS, iPad, iPhone, mp3, music, online    Posted date:  April 11, 2012  |  No comment

I wouldn't describe myself as a huge game player, but I like some games. I don't have a huge music collection, but it's enough to fill my 32 GB iPhone. So what do you do when that describes you? Play Guess Your Songs! Guess Your Songs is a great new game that pits you against your music library. The best way to play? On your iPhone or iPad. This, of course, suggests there are other ways to play, right? Right! You can also play online at guessyoursongs.com. And a little birdie tells me Guess Your Songs will soon be available on other mobile platforms as well. Let's go ahead and concentrate...

PureBeats In-Ear Headset

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, Android, earbuds, headphones, headsets, iPhone, ipod, mac, music, purebeats, puregear, stereo    Posted date:  May 7, 2011  |  One Comment

I was recently asked to take a look at the new PureBeats in-ear headset from PureGear. Not being one to turn down an accessory, I readily agreed. They are advertised as being a low cost alternative to DiddyBeats, and while the suggested retail price is $49.99, I have seen them online for as low as $14.94 at getyourtech.com. But whether you buy at the high end or the low end, if you want a great in-ear experience, the PureBeats can't be beat. When I first opened the box and removed the PureBeats, I was surprised at the flat cord. I knew the plastic coating was to help keep them tangle-free,...

How to use Amazon Cloud Drive on iPhone or iPad

Posted by: Edward    Tags:  Cloud Computing, music, storage    Posted date:  April 3, 2011  |  4 Comments

Compared to Amazon, other companies are idiots when it comes to cloud computing: Amazon EC2 and Amazon S3 are powering many Web 2.0 startups and with introduction of Amazon Cloud Drive also end users, not just startups, can take advantage of superior cloud computing. (more...)

Kickin’ It With The Jawbone Jambox!

There have been many portable speakers developed over the years for our insatiable need for quality sound on the go, but very few have made the impact or started a social buzz quite like the Jawbone Jambox. From the first moment I caught a glimpse of this portable dynamo I wanted one! I have officially owned my Jambox since December of last year and have had extensive time to develop an opinion. If you're on the fence about the Jambox because of price or lack of information then read on and hopefully you will have your answer. Unboxing The good folks at Aliph did an amazing job with...

Senuti Rescues Your Music

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  Apple, iPad, iPhone, ipod, itunes, mac, music, sync, videos    Posted date:  January 2, 2011  |  No comment

As those of you who follow me on Twitter know, I recently got both a Mac and stuck in New Jersey for a week. Since I hadn't expected the latter, I was getting impatient about transferring my music (all 8 GB of it!) to my Mac so I could start syncing it to my iPhone. While I've frequently seen the question asked in forums, I'd never really paid attention. How can you copy your music back to your computer from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod? Yes, the best way is still to have a backup and just copy it to the new computer. I had a backup - but it was on a network server that would have required days...

Meet the Beatles, iTunes

Before I start, I'm going to warn all you 20 and 30 somethings, or generally selfish people to stop reading now. You don't care. You wanted the latest and greatest iDevice, or a software update, or a cloud service, or something just for you personally. You were disappointed because Apple's announcement wasn't for you. Get over it. Move on. There is nothing here for you. Or to quote the Beatles, "Let it be." As to the rest of us, the non-selfish and the baby boomer generation (and yes, boomers still make up 28% of the US population and we have $2.3 TRILLION in disposable income), this one's for us. I...

Pandora now for Windows Mobile

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  application, music, ppc, program, windows mobile    Posted date:  December 29, 2008  |  No comment

We remember that Pandora recently became available for Windows Mobile, but only for select phones. But now, thanks to some of those helpful hackers over at PPC Geeks, Pandora is now available for (possibly) every Windows Mobile phone. At least in the US. For those of you still out of the loop about what Pandora is, it's an internet radio station where you mold the music to your taste. Start by choosing an artist or song as your base. Pandora may play the song you have chosen, or another song by the artist who does the song. It will play something by the artist you have chosen, or it will play...
