I wouldn't describe myself as a huge game player, but I like some games. I don't have a huge music collection, but it's enough to fill my 32 GB iPhone. So what do you do when that describes you? Play Guess Your Songs! Guess Your Songs is a great new game that pits you against your music library. The best way to play? On your iPhone or iPad. This, of course, suggests there are other ways to play, right? Right! You can also play online at guessyoursongs.com. And a little birdie tells me Guess Your Songs will soon be available on other mobile platforms as well. Let's go ahead and concentrate...

iPadFLEX for iPad 2 (and New!)

It's true. I regularly troll Kickstarter. Sometimes I send a recommendation your way if I'd like to see it succeed, and other times I find something that's already succeeding. This is one of those cases (no pun intended). The iPad Flex Kit was almost at its goal when I found it, so I backed it and sat back and waited to receive mine. Let me tell you all about it.   What you see here, is the skeleton of the Flex. A thin, but strong shell that clips to the back of your iPad (2 or "new") and offers you some comfortable alternatives for holding and carrying your tablet. In this photo,...

iPhoto for iPhone / iPad review

The importance of Apple releasing iPhoto for iOS goes beyond a mere feature set: it's the final part of the iLife suite that has been ported from OS X to iOS and by far the most important one because it's the most widely used (most people take photos but only few people record videos, for example). Moreover iPhoto for iOS includes some spectacular (see screenshots below) and animated user controls that break from classic oldie theme of user controls of iOS, tries to use realism in presentation and indicates what Apple expects from 3rd party apps. A pessimist would say "it's just feature-poor...

Editorial: iPad 3 – first impressions and thoughts

Posted by: Edward    Tags:  4G, Apple, display, iPad, iPad 2, LTE, New iPad, retina    Posted date:  March 19, 2012  |  No comment

I have not purchased a new iPad (3rd generation) yet (I will do it later this year). But I was playing with many iPad 3 units in 2 Apple stores in Paris (one inside of the biggest museum in the world, the Louvre, as seen on photo above, and one near the French ministry of Music (sic!)), After looking at them, they were on my mind, so here are my impressions and thoughts! First off: it's great device apart from 2 tiny things: reports of overheating, and the fact that LTE (the true 4G) is working only in USA and Canada, not in any other country. This thing has a display of incredible resolution...

So there I was in the C-Spire store looking at Android phones. <yawn> Then I remembered that they now carried the iPhone, so I sauntered over to see what accessories they had. I looked at a display of brightly colored cases, and assumed at first they were Otterbox cases. But the colors were...different. I moved closer and saw that they were Trident cases. Bright blue, red, pink, and more - and they were bright and attractive. I'd never seen cases quite like them before, and never heard of the brand.            I took a pink one from the display, and went to find out the cost. $35 sounded...
