Just for Fun iPhone 5 Case Review

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, case, iPhone, iphone 5, review    Posted date:  May 16, 2013  |  No comment

Today we're looking at the Toonish Black Cat iPhone 5 case from EZ Buys Direct. EZ Buys Direct has loads of fun accessories for smartphones and tablets. I must admit, I like the Toonish Black Cat...because he looks like my black cat.   Notice the resemblance? Unfortunately, Jet is far more expensive, and far less protective than any case. It's also worth noting, you don't have to feed the Toonish Black Cat iPhone 5 case.   As you can see from the above photos, this case is made from a thick, durable soft gel silicon that will really cushion your phone. The fit is less...

Smarter Cases for Smarter Stuff – Case of the Week Review

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, app, case, iPad, iPhone, QR code    Posted date:  May 16, 2013  |  No comment

Are you findable? If your answer is not an immediate "yes," then you probably aren't. So what does that mean? I'm glad you asked!       Currently available for: · iPhone 5 · iPhone 4/4S · Galaxy S3 · iPad 3 · iPad Mini Findables are a unique case concept. As you can see from the photos above (iPad mini on the left, iPhone 5 on the right), these cases come with QR codes. When you get your case, you scan the code, either with the Findables app (available in iTunes), or with any QR scanner you already use. The Findables app doesn't do much more than that though. It would be nice...

Case of the Week Review – Trident Apollo 2-in-1 Snap-on Case for iPhone 5

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, Apple, case, iPhone, review, Trident    Posted date:  April 26, 2013  |  No comment

This week's offering from MobileFun.com is Trident's Apollo 2-in-1 Snap-on case for the iPhone 5. Having used Trident's Cyclops case on my iPhone 4S, I was anxious to check out the Apollo.   As you can see from the photo above, the colors are bright and really grab your attention. The backplate is interchangeable, so you can have a monochrome case, or a two-tone case. (This case comes in a variety of color combinations including Navy/Orange, Green/Blue, and Red/Black.) In addition to the case itself, you get a screen protector and cleaning cloth in the box. The back plate pops...

Case of the Week – Casemate Glam (review)

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, case, casemate, iOS, iPhone    Posted date:  April 20, 2013  |  No comment

I usually need at least a week to decide if I really like a case, but I fell in love with the Casemate Glam at first sight. But not for the reason you might think. Yes, it's sparkly. And what girl (or grown woman) doesn't like a little bling. As a matter of fact, I showed off this case to two girlfriends at dinner tonight, and they were both wowed. It is stunning - I can't deny it. But as I said, it wasn't the superficial that I fell in love with. When I pulled the Glam from the package, the back was facing away, and what I saw was the inside of the case. Spongey soft protection....

BookBook for iPhone 5 Review

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, BookBook, case, iPhone, review, TwelveSouth, wallet    Posted date:  December 27, 2012  |  No comment

Some time ago, my friend Wyatt LeCadre posted a great review on the BookBook for iPhone 4. I really wanted one for myself. But I wasn't willing to forgo the camera opening, which was missing in the iPhone 4 case. So I got the Little Black Book case instead. I liked the Little Black Book case, but it was like cheating on your partner - every time I opened it, I was thinking of the BookBook. I was thrilled to discover that TwelveSouth corrected this oversight with the iPhone 5 case. The cutout is nice and big, and does not interfere with photos at all, or cause any kind of halo effect. As...

Ontrion iBatteryCase for iPhone 4/4S Review

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, backup, battery, battery case, case, iBatteryCase, iPhone, Ontrion    Posted date:  September 2, 2012  |  No comment

I've recently had the opportunity to look at a new battery case for the iPhone 4/4S. This newcomer from Ontrion, is a nice alternative in a crowded market at only $39.99. One of the features I liked best about the iBatterycase is that it charges your iPhone and itself via a micro USB port at the bottom of the case. You can charge it alone, of course, but as long as it's charging, if your iPhone is in it, it will charge as well. There seems to be two ideologies when it comes to using battery cases. The first holds that you should allow your battery to drain almost completely, and then turn on your...

Otterbox Defender Case for iPad Review

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, case, iPad, Otterbox, review    Posted date:  September 1, 2012  |  No comment

Last December, I bought myself an Otterbox Defender for my iPad 2. You never heard about it because I was really disappointed. It just wasn't up to the normal high standards we've all come to expect from Otterbox. Fortunately, it didn't take long for them to redeem themselves, and they released a new model to go with the New iPad, which (as luck would have it), also fits the iPad 2. The current Defender case is simply brilliant. My only complaint is the added weight, but there has to be some small sacrifice for the protection it offers. The Defender comes in 3 pieces: a back plate, frame...

Last week at CTIA in New Orleans, I was lucky enough to catch up with Cheryl from Bodydock. She demonstrated their product, which is not just an ultra protective case, but a system of magnets so that you can dock your iPhone almost anywhere. Check out their website at bodydock.com.

iPad 2 Case Review: Targus Versavu

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  accessories, case, iPad, Targus    Posted date:  February 12, 2012  |  One Comment

You know I'm a bit of a case fiend.  I am forever in search of the perfect case - but I think I've finally found the one for my iPad 2! What makes the Targus Versavu so special? Simple - it allows your iPad to rotate 360 degrees, so that you can use it in both portrait and landscape. My biggest complaint with the Smart covers, is that you can prop your iPad up in landscape view, but if you want to view anything in portrait mode, you have to leave your iPad flat. Of course, you only get a slight tilt with the Smart cover anyway. The Versavu gives you two angles, in addition to being able...
