Who? When? Where?

Posted by: Diana M. McDonough    Tags:  Android, calendar    Posted date:  June 2, 2011  |  No comment

Once upon a time, I would write appointments on sticky notes.  And, as could be expected, some of those sticky notes disappeared into the black hole that is the top of my desk.  Or maybe they stuck to my elbow, fell on the floor and were swept away by the cleaning crew.  As a result, I got my first Palm Pilot.  Well, that was many years ago, and now we have wonderful things called smart phones.  No more lost sticky notes for me.  Unfortunately though, the drama continues.  What’s the best calendar application?  Here I will review a baker’s dozen Android calendar applications in an attempt...

Easy Calendar

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  agenda, app, calendar, iPhone    Posted date:  April 10, 2011  |  No comment

Finding the perfect calendar is a life-long quest for some of us. Some of us want different things from our calendars: integration with an Exchange account, Tasks, multiple views, multiple calendar support, repeating events, multiple alarms, contact integration...and the list goes on. Others just want a calendar where you can add an event, and then see it - one week at a time. Enter Easy Calendar. Easy Calendar specializes in the week view. No month or day view, no agenda view - just one week at a time. No highlights, no fancy colors. Easy Calendar doesn't even have much in the way of Settings....

CalenGoo

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  agenda, Apple, calendar, events, iOS4, iPhone, meetings, productivity, tasks    Posted date:  August 22, 2010  |  3 Comments

Everyone knows how much I depend on my calendar, and that it was one of the big disappointments moving to the iPhone. I started out with PocketInformant while waiting for Agendus to catch up, and while the new owners seem to be dropping the ball on Agendus, PI hasn’t really done it for me. And then @jjb70 suggested CalenGoo. Since I sync only with Google, it seemed worth the try. For $6.99, it’s a mid price app from iTunes, but still a far cry cheaper than what I used to pay for apps on Palm. It has now taken a place of honor on my application dock. What CalenGoo does that the others don’t...

Convertcast Episode 48 July 19, 2010 And yes, we can mention "antennagate" since we're going to discuss cases. I did speak to an RF engineer, who suggested the only way to fix the current problem would be to put the antenna back on the inside. Form vs. function. Case offer from Apple - Bumper? Rebate (bumper owners), or 3rd party Apple offering? How many cases do you already have in your possession? How many do you have on order? Screen cover/shield? Parent update! Both are getting Evos...which required a dissertation on the difference between 3G/EVDO and WiFi. Things we take for granted. App...

Agendus for iPhone is not Agendus for Palm…yet

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  Agendus, calendar, contacts, Iambic, manager, Palm, pim, tasks, windows mobile    Posted date:  June 18, 2009  |  6 Comments

Before I get too far with this, I need to offer some kind of disclaimer and explain my relationship with Iambic. I am an Agendus fangirl. It’s really as simple as that. I am Agendus biased. I wrote several reviews about Agendus for Palm back in the day. Agendus was my number one go to app on my Centro and Treos before that. I used to spend hours hanging out on the Iambic forums giving users advice – whether they wanted it or not. I finally spent so much time there, that Adriano Chiaretta said “hey, why not join the Iambic Forums Team.” I was tickled pink. Then I discovered that active Iambic...

Dumping Outlook – Returning to the Palm Desktop

Posted by: Alli Flowers    Tags:  calendar, cloud, CommpanionLink, Google, Goosync, Outlook, Palm, Palm desktop, pim data, ppc, sync, tasks, windows mobile, WinPho    Posted date:  March 15, 2009  |  No comment

This has been my goal since the day I first started seriously toying with the notion of switching to a WinPho. I have always admitted to hating Outlook, even though I really can’t explain why. I prefer my email viewed in Mozilla Thunderbird. Thunderbird actually gives me far more control over the layout. I liked using the Palm Desktop for my contacts and calendar: more precisely, I preferred using Agendus. Iambic offers an Outlook version of Agendus, but it’s still just Outlook with a pretty wrapper.   So what changed? As most of you know, my love of Agendus was so great, that about...
