I know it's not due out officially for a while, but it is leaking all over the place. Notably here. I've been following as people d/l and install it, and may attempt putting it on my Wind.

Thoughts? Reservations? Advice?

I say go for it. I'm kinda curious to see how it'll run on a small single core cpu with limited memory.

Good Luck!

Hmmm...I've stayed out of the MS news.  Is this a purported eventual replacement for The Disaster That Is Vista?

It is exactly that. And Vista hasn't been so bad in the end. I think maybe parts of it were disasterous. Windows 7 is supposed to take the best parts of Vista, and fix the rest. From what I hear right now, the beta is running great, and (surprise) only the drivers are a little behind.

The Disaster That Is Vista?

Disaster? Why you say that? It got a crappy rep because it was introduced on laptops and desktops that only had a gig of memory or so {was intro'd early mebbe). It doesn't function well in those situations, true. Didja' know that it has the the fastest and best voice recognition software...integrated...out there. I can use voice [after a some work (and headaches, I'll admit)] to run my whole PC. Adobe master collection, microsoft office and others make me a fabulous typist. When dictating two pages of a Heinlein book to Notes, I was able to reach 156 word a minute.

No disaster....(I just said "no disaster dot, dot, dot, dot quotation mark I just said quote........you get the idea)
