Through the years I've done a lot of reviews for service type apps that are mostly platform independent. I thought it might be nice to start a list along with some explanation of what they are or do. To keep it neat, one recommendation per post please.

EvernoteFree version and pay version - you choose what you need. Evernote offers you a notebook with unending notes and the ability to copy/paste from your computer/WM phone/iPhone (BB?) into notes. These notes/notebooks are kept in sync over the web so that you have access to them wherever you are. I find it very handy for clipping photos from websites. I mostly use it for copying receipts and registration keys.

JottBy now, probably very well known. And to be fair, the more useful versions are no longer free, but a free version does still exist. But it's still an incredibly useful app - and one that the Oracle of Allibama told us about wayyyyy back when... (Great site/forum, Allikins! Lookin' forward to haunting your hallowed halls!)

Oh - and that, of course, reminds me of Dial2Do. Great having you here, Lizzie!

CallRec I enjoyed using this application for recording important voice memos on the go. I also was also happy this recorded some important client phone calls as well. I recommend it. http://www.qmobilsoft.net/

Not in the same class class as the others, but a nice program, nonetheless.

Voice On The Go- Great service that works with any phone or service. They also have great customer support! With this service you can have all your email read to you as well as respond all through voice. There are several other features such as adding calender appointments and dialing contacts all from within the service itself.

One should not forget ShoutCast, its a great online radio directory. Then also there are countless movie watching sites online that won't be mentioned for copyright reasons.

Here is a neat app for windows pcs. It's called YBook. Basically it formats any txt or html file into a "book" complete with pages you can flip and remembering where you left off. Great bookreader! http://www.spacejock.com/yBook.html
