What do you think will make a big splash for next year in the GSM arena?  I think either an android phone that has styling worth while may.  I think if there is another version of the iphone with A2DP and more wireless feature and more memory.

Hopefully we'll be seeing something huge from Palm!

Of course, Android certainly has potential. It's still in its infancy and is limited in both the handsets and apps to run on it. Let's see how quickly it matures.

PLEASE let us see something huge from Palm in a non-WM format.  I have begun to hear in the background a distinct sucking sound...let's not have Palm OS (or whatever resurrection may be in the works) go tits-up in '09!!!

Well the 1st half of January will tell us a lot.  We have WWDC 2009 the 1st week - we will see what Apple has up their sleeve.  My prediction is the 8G iPhone becomes your $99 pricepoint Apple has needed to hit.  Followed by a new 32G @ $299 with the 16G moving into the $199 price point.

We are then followed by CES 2009 in the 2nd week.  We are supposed to hear some news from Palm, I think ever since Alli heard about a "Palm announcement" she has developed a twitch (very similar to Inspector Clouseau from the Pink Panther Wink ).  As well I anticipate to hear from HTC and we will be enlightened as to why the USofA didn't receive an HD Pro (We will see HTC's 2nd Android and you will likey!!!)

I think this is going to be HTC's year to shine - unless they have any more devices that start cracking! I'm still annoyed that the HD was not released in the US, but holding onto the hope that it means they have something even better for us in 09 - and that it hits Sprint FIRST.

Apple may not have the best device in the iPhone (it's still missing too many simple functions to be practical), but with the low prices they are doing what HTC ($550 average device cost) and Sony ($1000 for the Xperia?!) are not.

We saw with Palm's Centro, that the average consumer has no loyalty to anything but his pocketbook. They are willing to buy any device from any manufacturer on any (or no) operating system (can you say Razr?) if the price is right.

I would love to have gone to CES this year...I wish they would move it to spring break!

It wasn't Clouseau that had the twitch, it was his boss!!!

I am going to agree with you.  I love Palm and I hope "nova" is something big.
