Funny name for an app, but what an app it is! Having only discovered it 15 minutes ago, I haven't been able to try it myself yet. Unfortunately, it requires iOS 4.3, and I'm still on 4.2. But this might be a reason to update and lose the jailbreak. Seriously. Gogobeans allows you to store your digitial life, and (more importantly), share with any other iPhone or Android phone, just by shaking the device. The thing that makes this so unique is that you don't have to be on the same WiFi network. You don't have to be in the same room. You don't even have to be on the same continent! Watch the video...

CTIA CEO Roundtable

The introduction of the 3 cellphone giants' CEO's was worth the price of admission to this year's CTIA. While I'm still not so crazy about Sprint, I'm now a huge Dan Hesse fan. The man is a great speaker, and is quick on his feet. He didn't miss a single opportunity to poke fun of his competitors. Watch the intro with moderator, Jim Cramer. I have a few more good clips coming, but this is definitely a "best of show."

Sync what? That was the question I asked as I approached the reps at the Trend Micro booth. We all know the name - they’re the people who keep us virus-free. (They are now boasting anti-virus software for your hand-held devices, but that’s another story for another time.) SafeSync is their newest offering, and I think it’s exciting. I know a lot of people who use DropBox for their backup and instant access to files on the go, but there’s just something about it that has always bothered me. The thing I dislike most is the fact that it requires you create additional folders, and copies...

abcNotes

March 9, 2011

abcNotes is another app in a large collection of similar iPhone/iPad apps. With a universal binary, you can use abcNotes on both your iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. Beautifully designed, I have no doubt that this app looks great on the large screen of the iPad. It is, however, a bit cramped on the smaller iPhone screen. abcNotes' hook is that it offers you multiple "desktops" on which to place your sticky notes. The desktops are customizable. You can use a variety of preset backgrounds, or import your own photos. Each note can be a different colour, and you can set the font and size. The notes...
