Sometimes a Kickstarter project comes along that has a hook that makes it just a little different. Cellhelmet is one of those projects.

The world’s first and only case to insure the iPhone 4/4S against physical damages (for US & Canadian residents).  If your phone accidentally breaks inside of a cellhelmet – we’ll repair it.  If it’s beyond repair – we’ll replace it.  Guaranteed.”

Pretty gutsy, I’d say. I’m looking forward to getting my hands on one of these bad boys, because while the protection is important, when it comes to iPhone cases, looks count. But the photos on the Kickstarter page give me hope!

Each case will come with two interchangeable backplates: pink/purple, green/blue or black/white. I hope that they will make the additional colors available separately – why should we be limited to two?!

The project is 100% funded, but they are still accepting backers up until March 11. $40 will get you in on the ground floor with both your own Cellhelmet, and a year of total protection for your iPhone.
