My brain is fried. I am having such a great time. I’ve lost the people I was with only 30 minutes ago, and don’t know where to look for the ones I’m supposed to meet next. It will work out. I’ve recorded so much video that I’m afraid I’ve filled my hard drive.
I’m having a love/hate relationship with Mac OSX. I think I’m getting the hang of the file system, but doggone it, Windows is so much more (dare I say it?), intuitive! I uploaded 847 videos to my youtube account. Then I uploaded some of them again, because I hadn’t figured out how to rename them, and didn’t know if I’d uploaded them or not. And then…just to make life interesting, after renaming some I uploaded them a 3rd time because (with the proper names now), I didn’t know if I’d uploaded them or not.
So now I’m at the stage where I’m having to compare the videos in my youtube collection, and delete only the ones I really want to delete. Heaven help me.
I don’t believe I’ve seen everything I wanted to see. I know I’ve seen a few things twice. (The exhibits work like my youtube videos.)
Here’s one very quick glance around the exhibit floor. I’d have taken more video, but I’d have bumped into as many people as bumped into me.
Question: why is my Mac duplicating all my photos? I imported a picture from my iPhone, and in “Finder” show 3 – all with the same file name. How can that even be? I realize the date plays a big part to Mac, but once I move past “today,” “tomorrow,” and “last 12 days” (which seems rather arbitrary to me), I’m going to be hopelessly lost, confused, and have more duplicates than I would ever have gotten with Windows. Maybe even with ME! (Ok, maybe that’s pushing it a little.)
The good news is, the nice people at Gelaskins gave me a skin for my MacBook, so now I can throw it back in my purse without fearing that it get banged up against all the other “stuff” I’ve accumulated during this trip, like the bottle of hand sanitizer advertising who knows what, and the countless boxes of mini mints. Of course, there’s also the Zagg Sparq and the Flip HD video recorder that I started out with. None of these things was really meant to be thrown in a bag without some kind of buffer. In my next life I’m going to design a more feminine gadget bag.
Alright folks, back to work for me. I have video to sort out, files to upload, and captions to write. This should keep us entertained for a few more days.
