abcNotes is another app in a large collection of similar iPhone/iPad apps. With a universal binary, you can use abcNotes on both your iPhone/iPod Touch and iPad. Beautifully designed, I have no doubt that this app looks great on the large screen of the iPad. It is, however, a bit cramped on the smaller iPhone screen.
abcNotes’ hook is that it offers you multiple “desktops” on which to place your sticky notes.
The desktops are customizable. You can use a variety of preset backgrounds, or import your own photos. Each note can be a different colour, and you can set the font and size. The notes themselves can be pinch/dragged to enlarge or shrink so that you can fit them to your liking on your desktop. You can also move the notes around by touching and dragging them to a different position.

abcNotes also allows you to add “Badges.” I see these more as thumbtacks, but whatever you label them, they are decorative in nature and serve no real function.

You choose the shape and colour, red circle, green square, etc., and then the icon that goes inside the shape. You can see in the note shown earlier, I have a smiley face inside what could be a yellow sunshine.
The one feature that sets abcNotes apart from every other notes app currently available, is that it allows you to sync your notes to another iOS device using abcNotes. This could be very convenient if you have both an iPhone and iPad and want to keep the same notes on them. I’m unconvinced, however, that this feature is any better than being able to sync with iTunes, or to a server like Google or Dropbox.
In addition, abcNotes allows you to email a single note, an entire “desktop” worth of notes, or all your notes. Emailing the full desktop works quite well, and you wind up with a selection of colorful notes in your email that you can copy/paste however or wherever you need them. I was unable to use a single note – the entire note did not properly copy.
If what you want is a fun note app that looks cute, abcNotes is a solution that could work for you. If you need something with more flexibility, then I couldn’t recommend this app.
You can find it in iTunes for $1.99.
