Jerry you should cheak the sales figures again. Android is outselling iPhone. In first 3 days the iPhone 4 sold 1.7 million units yet in the next 18 dsays they only sold 1.3 million units. 3 million units in 21 days is just over 130,000 per day. Android has 160,000 activations per day.. Thats currently over 30,000 more units per day.

The common folk like cheaper units and there are several very low cost Android phones.

Outselling? Are you counting the BYGO free? :) Here’s a what I take out the whole equation: It takes an entire platform consisting of multiple phones to come close to (or surpass) ONE phone on ONE carrier (in the US of course). Plus, add the total amount of iOS devices which include iPod touches, and iPads, then it’s no contest.

    Activations are not sales.

Activations are more accurate than sales since it shows the number of people actually using the devices. Sales figures include those that have been replaced due to faults, those that have been returned etc etc. Jobs has been shown to get it wrong when he implied Googles figures included upgrades they didn’t. Also the activations would suit iOS figures as Google’s activations only include Android devices with Google services. Google have two distinct advantages over iOs, the first is low cost devices and second is hardware device partnerships (for example Google TV in Sony TVs). While Googles partnerships grow Apple are now facing the annual lull of Q1 and Q2 before the iPhone 5.
