Skype for podcasting. AIM for my kids. MSN (now Windows Live Messenger) for some and Yahoo for others. How many times changing id’s to whittle down those buddy lists?

      My question is: you mentioned that you abandoned ICQ for AIM, but in my understaning they use the same protocol and are essentially the same (I did however HATE the fact that in the ICQ iteration of the client you had to press CTRL+Enter to send a message, which was inconvenient imho). Typing your ICQ number into the AIM client makes it work with ICQ.

      Myself, I like integrated messaging solutions. I used to use trillian for quite some time (I needed the chat logging feature) but did eventually abandon it for Pidgin just because of its small memory footprint and a myriad of plug-ins (like IRC and Twitter)
